3. Is Pool Perf® cheaper than glass pool fencing?

When comparing total project costs, Pool Perf® is often comparable to - and sometimes cheaper than - frameless glass, especially once long-term maintenance is factored in. Your Trade Partner can quote both if you want the comparison on your own site.

  • Upfront costs: Similar to quality frameless glass, depending on design
  • Ongoing costs: No costly cleaning, corrosion removal, or glass replacement
  • Durability: Marine-grade aluminium construction lasts for decades

4. Does Pool Perf® have a cost calculator?

Yes - our Pool Perf® Cost Calculator is coming soon! It will let you enter your fence length, number of gates, and preferred design to get an instant estimate.

Until it’s live, you can use our Pool Perf® Quote Request to get an accurate price from our team, usually within 24 hours.

Yes - corrosion-resistant, strong, and perforated for wind flow, making it ideal for tough Australian environments.

Competitor Comparison

18. Are all perforated pool fences the same?

No. Kit form perforated fencing requires on-site assembly, which can:

  • Lead to incorrect assembly and non-compliance
  • Damage panels and coatings
  • Reduce strength and rigidity

Pool Perf® Advantage:

  • Professionally assembled in a controlled factory environment
  • Tabbed-and-slotted frame system - the frame members tab and slot into one another, preventing twist and guaranteeing the frame stays square. This construction is unique to Pool Perf®
  • The perforated infill is installed independently, after the frame is assembled, then riveted around the full perimeter with pre-treated, powder-coated rivets for added strength
  • Built to exact specifications for AS 1926.1 compliance
  • Delivered ready to install with compliance documentation

More questions

An installed quote from a Trade Partner typically covers the site measure, the panels and posts made to your measurements, gates and hardware, all fixings, installation, and removal of the old fence if that’s part of the job. Because every site differs, your partner will itemise it so you can see exactly what’s in and what’s not.

Usually a few weeks end to end. A site measure happens within days of your enquiry; manufacturing runs to the current production schedule once your order and colour are confirmed; installation is generally a day or two for a standard residential pool. Custom designs, custom colours and large or complex sites add time - your partner will give you a realistic date up front.

Pool barriers are regulated in every state, and the requirements around registration, certification and inspection differ. In some states a certificate of compliance is needed before you sell or lease, and inspections run on a set cycle. Confirm with your local council or state pool safety authority - your Trade Partner deals with this locally and can tell you what applies. See our compliance page for the detail.

That’s the point of using an accredited installer. The panels themselves are manufactured to AS1926.1 and NATA tested, and your Trade Partner installs to the required heights, clearances, gate hardware and non-climbable zone. The most common cause of a later failure is something added near the fence afterwards - a planter, a BBQ, a retaining wall - so keep the 1200mm arc clear.

Ten years against manufacturing defects, from the date of dispatch, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. There are exclusions worth knowing about - installations within 1km of the sea or within 1.5m of the pool splash zone, damage from impact or misuse, and the use of harsh chemicals or abrasives on the coating. Hinges and locks are covered by their own manufacturers’ warranties. Full terms are available on request.

Marine-grade 5052 aluminium is exactly what you want in a coastal environment, and a great many of our installs are on the coast. Note though that the standard warranty excludes installations within 1km of the sea - talk to your Trade Partner about the right specification for genuinely beachfront sites.

Hose it down. That’s essentially it. There’s no squeegeeing, no polishing and no repainting. A periodic wash keeps the powder coat in good order, particularly in coastal or dusty areas - the maintenance schedule that comes with the warranty spells it out.

Yes, and this is where it outperforms glass. Panels can be raked to follow the fall of the land rather than stepped in awkward increments. There are limits - the barrier height and the non-climbable arc still have to be satisfied at every point - which is why the site measure matters.

Almost certainly. There are the full Dulux and Interpon powder-coat colours available, plus 30-odd perforation patterns, plus the option of supplying your own artwork to be lasercut. Bring a sample or a colour code to your site measure.

Yes. Supply-only orders go through our online shop, and we ship Australia-wide with panels arriving pre-assembled, individually wrapped and palletised. If you’d rather it was installed for you, find your local Trade Partner instead.

PolyPerf® is our budget line - the same Pure Perf® look using a Stealth Matt Black HDPE infill in a textured black aluminium frame, at a lower price point, and also AS1926.1 compliant. It’s a supply product rather than something the Trade Partner network installs.

Genuine panels are branded, and there are tells: a textured powder coat rather than a scratch-prone flat satin black, a tabbed-and-slotted frame (unique to Pool Perf®) with the infill riveted right around using pre-treated, powder-coated rivets, 2.5mm marine-grade aluminium, spans to 3m rather than 2m, the full Dulux and Interpon colour range rather than two options, and compliance documentation on request. Buying through an authorised Trade Partner is the simplest guarantee.
